Gerard Butler Is Back In GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION Trailer

gerard butler in greenland 2: migration trailer

The world’s end was just the beginning in Greenland 2: Migration, a post-apocalyptic sequel to the 2020 disaster movie starring heroic everyman Gerard Butler. The trailer for the film, which hails from Lionsgate and STX Films, has just been released ahead of its January 9th, 2026, cinematic release date.

Five years after a comet strike causes an extinction-level event that decimates most of the Earth, the Garrity family are forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home and a possible oasis in southern France. Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin return to star, joined this time by Roman Griffin Davis (replacing Roger Dale Floyd as the Garrity’s diabetic son), Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg and William Abadie.

Longtime Butler collaborator, Ric Roman Waugh returns to the director’s chair, working from a script by Chris Sparling (who also wrote Greenland) and Mitchell LaFortune.

Expect encounters with angry mobs of survivors, radiation storms, more space debris, and unstable weather patterns in this long-awaited sequel film. Oh, and Gerard Butler kicking ass, as per usual.

Watch the trailer for Greenland 2: Migration below. The film releases on January 9th.

SPACEBALLS 2 Reunites Original Cast In First Look Photo

spaceballs original cast

Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed that the upcoming sequel to Spaceballs will see Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, Daphne Zuniga and George Wyner reprise their roles from the original film; they join a returning Mel Brooks, whose casting was previously announced. Also on the call sheet as new characters are Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman and Anthony Carrigan.

Josh Greenbaum is directing the sequel from a script by Gad, Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez. Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Jeb Brody are producing for Imagine Entertainment, alongside Gad, Brooks, Greenbaum and Kevin Salter.

Neither the title nor plot details for the comedy have been released. Production is underway, with a planned release in 2027.

Originally released in 1987, Spaceballs starred Bill Pullman, John Candy, Rick Moranis and Daphne Zuniga, as well as Joan Rivers in a voice role as C-3PO in a wig. In Spaceballs, “heroic mercenary Lone Starr (Pullman) and his alien sidekick Barf (Candy) rescue Princess Vespa (Zuniga) of Druidia and her droid, Dot Matrix (Rivers), from being captured by the Spaceballs, led by President Skroob (Brooks), who wants to use Vespa as ransom to obtain Druidia’s air for their own planet. However, the heroes get stranded on a desert moon, where they encounter the wise Yogurt (also Brooks), who teaches Starr about the metaphysical power known as “the Schwartz”. Meanwhile, Spaceball commanders Dark Helmet (Moranis) and Colonel Sandurz (Wyner) lead the search for them but are hindered by their own incompetence.”

Though primarily a parody of George Lucas’ franchise, Spaceballs also takes jabs at other popular films and franchises like Star Trek, Alien, The Wizard of Oz, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Planet of the Apes, and even Transformers.

Josh Gad previously teased his work on the project in a cryptic Instagram post, in which all relevant details were blacked out. “Just handed in a film script that I think may be the funniest and best thing I’ve ever worked on and I am so freaking excited,” Gad captioned.

The first look at the movie’s cast can be seen below, with a photo taken during the table read.

R.L. Stine‘s Pumpkinhead, a Tubi Original feature, is set to debut in time for Halloween. Scheduled to land on the free streaming service from October 17th, the film’s cast includes Bean Reid, Adeline Lo, Kevin McNulty, Bob Frazer, Matty Finochio, and Seth Isaac Johnson.

R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead centres on teenager Sam, whose family’s move to Redhaven is made worse when his brother Finn disappears — and no one else remembers that he existed. Sam joins friend Becka and eccentric Rusty in the race to find Finn and break a harvest curse before Halloween ends.

R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead is a playful blend of good fun, big scares with an element of adventure that taps into everything audiences love about Halloween and young-adult horror,” says Tubi chief content officer Adam Lewinson, via THR. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with the legendary ‘master of fear,’ R.L. Stine, as part of our growing slate of YA storytelling that bridges generations and delivers fresh, genre-driven entertainment.”

paul rudd vs snake in anaconda trailer reboot

Jack Black and Paul Rudd are having a hard time wrestling snakes in the trailer for Sony’s comedy reboot of Anaconda. The reimagining of the 1997 movie is being directed by Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) from a script he co-wrote with Kevin Etten, and will be released in cinemas on Christmas Day. Selton Mello, Daniel Melchior, Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn and Ione Skye are also starring.

The new Anaconda focuses on a group of friends who are obsessed with the ’90s film and set out to shoot their own version, complete with a giant snake. “This is Anaconda, and we no longer have a snake for our snake movie,” Black announces in the trailer after Rudd accidentally decapitates their scaly co-star. “We have to go out in the jungle and find another one.”

Black plays a former director now stuck as a wedding videographer, while Rudd plays an actor who did a stint on a cop show but sees his Hollywood dreams slipping away. Newton and Zahn are other childhood friends who join them in the adventure, while Mello will play an animal wrangler.

Luis Llosa directed the original Anaconda, with a cast that included Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube and Jon Voight. Spawning several sequels, the first movie focused on a National Geographic film crew hunting for the world’s biggest and deadliest snake.

Netflix is preparing to film a feature adaptation of The Boy in the Iron Box, an adaptation of a six-part horror story co-written by Chuck Hogan and Guillermo del Toro. Announced to star in the forthcoming pic are Rupert Friend to lead, as well as Kevin Durand and Jaeden Martell.

David Prior, known for helming the 2020 horror The Empty Man, wrote the script and will direct. He previously collaborated with del Toro on an episode of the latter’s Netflix anthology series, Cabinet of Curiosities. Del Toro is producing The Boy in the Iron Box alongside J. Miles Dale.

The original story told of a group of mercenaries who crash-land on a remote, snowy summit. Taking refuge from wolves in a long-abandoned fortress, the group finds a concealed pit holding a box wrapped in chains. Terrors are soon unleashed on the unfortunate men. Friend will play the leader of the group, Liev, with Durand as one of the mercenaries. Martell will take on the role of the titular boy in the box.

News of this new project arrives ahead of the November release of del Toro’s highly anticipated Frankenstein adaptation, which stars Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi. The feature will receive a limited cinema release from October 17th, before hitting Netflix on November 7th.

SUPERMAN Will Return In MAN OF TOMORROW

Superman Man of Tomorrow

James Gunn has announced that the next big-screen Superman movie will be Man of Tomorrow, and will be released July 9th, 2027.

After having previously teased a follow-up to this summer’s Superman, the filmmaker finally unveiled the sequel via a post on his Instagram account, alongside similar posts made by stars David Corenswet, who will return to play Clark Kent and his Kryptonian alter ego, and Nicholas Hoult, aka the supervillain Lex Luthor.

Each post included a different piece of artwork depicting Superman and Luthor, with the evil genius having swapped his businesswear for a natty new mech suit. This green and purple suit has been used by Luthor on many occasions in the comics and animated movies, but never seen in live action. It seems that Luthor has had enough of his lackeys failing to take down Superman and wants to do the job properly himself, so this rematch should be one to watch out for.

Before the Man of Tomorrow soars into cinemas, there are a couple more DC Universe films on the way – Supergirl, directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Milly Alcock, is due June 26th 2026, followed by James Watkins’ horror-styled Clayface, starring Tom Rhys Harries, on September 11th 2026.

Sophie Turner is Lara Croft in New TOMB RAIDER Series

Sophie Turner

Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner has been confirmed as the new face of Lara Croft in Prime Video’s upcoming Tomb Raider series, created by Fleabag and Killing Eve‘s Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Based on the iconic video game series, Tomb Raider will follow Croft, an aristocratic archaeologist, as she travels the world in search of ancient tombs and forgotten ruins. Turner is the first actor to bring Croft to the small screen, following cinematic incarnations played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. Prime are no doubt hoping that this series can ride on the success of recent video game to TV adaptations The Last of Us and Fallout.

“I’m so excited to announce the formidable Sophie Turner as our Lara alongside this phenomenal creative team” said Waller-Bridge. “It’s not very often you get to make a show of this scale with a character you grew up loving. Everyone on board is wildly passionate about Lara and are all as outrageous, brave, and hilarious as she is. Get your artifacts out… Croft is coming…”

Sophie Turner added: “I am thrilled beyond measure to be playing Lara Croft. She’s such an iconic character, who means so much to so many – and I am giving everything I’ve got. They’re massive shoes to fill, following in the steps of Angelina and Alicia with their powerhouse performances, but with Phoebe at the helm, we (and Lara) are all in very safe hands. I can’t wait for you all to see what we have cooking.”

Waller-Bridge serves as co-showrunner alongside Chad Hodge. Production is due to begin on 19th January, 2026.

Daniela Melchior and Kristen Bell Star In VIOLENT NIGHT 2

the suicide squad actress daniela melchior cast in violent night 2

Director Tommy Wirkola returns to direct the sequel Violent Night 2, with Deadline reporting that Daniela Melchior and Kristen Bell have signed on to star. 87North and Universal will release the Christmas actioner on December 4th, 2026.

David Harbour will of course be back as the violence-inclined Santa Claus. Also returning for the sequel are Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who write the screenplay, and producers Kelly McCormick and David Leitch.

In the first film, Harbour begins his story as a bitter, drunk, stab-happy Santa Claus ready to turn his back on Christmas for good, until a little girl convinces him otherwise. Whether Violent Night 2 will pick up where we left off, or whether something will have happened to make Santa murderous again, is anyone’s guess.

In 2022, Wirkola said in an interview that he and the writers were already speaking about a sequel that could incorporate ideas they couldn’t fit into the first movie. “We don’t see the North Pole, we don’t see Mrs. Claus and we don’t see the elves,” the director said. “There were also a few ideas that we loved in the script, but we had to cut them because we couldn’t afford to shoot them.” Screenwriter Miller also expressed that the sequel would have “western influence” and that Miracle on 34th Street would be an inspiration for the film.

Daniela Melchior is best known for her role as Ratcatcher in The Suicide Squad and Road House, while Kristen Bell led the acclaimed comedy series The Good Place, as well as Veronica Mars.
