Despite having already released three films in under two years, writer-director Osgood Perkins has already lined up his next project. Neon has announced a new feature from the genre helmer titled The Young People, which will star The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Lola Tung and The Last of Us’ Nico Parker.

Plot details are being kept close to the vest, and production on The Young People is expected to begin this autumn in Vancouver.

Neon, which has a first-look deal with Perkins, will co-finance the film with Lyrical Media for a US cinema release. Perkins is producing with his partner Chris Ferguson for Phobos and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones for Range.

Perkins’ recent films include Longlegs, which he followed up with the Stephen King adaptation The Monkey, starring Theo James. His next project, Keeper, stars Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland and will be released on November 14th.

Per the synopsis, “Keeper follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.”

Stay tuned for any further crumbs of info we might have about Perkins’ upcoming projects!
