Karen Gillan Joins HIGHLANDER Remake

karen gillan in the life of chuck

Karen Gillan is the latest big name to join the cast of Amazon MGM’s remake of the 1980s cult classic, Highlander. The Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Who actress will star opposite Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, and Marisa Abela.

The original 1986 film starred Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, a Medieval Scottish Highlander who discovers he is one of a group of immortals destined to fight until only one remains, claiming the “Prize”. The story flashes between MacLeod’s 16th-century Scottish origins and his present-day life in New York City. Guided by the immortal swordsman Ramirez (Sean Connery), MacLeod learns about his immortality and the impending “Gathering” where the final battle will take place.

In this remake, Cavill will play MacLeod and Crowe, Ramirez. Dave Bautista will portray the immortal barbarian The Kurgen, who has been killing other immortals in order to absorb their life force and has been MacLeod’s nemesis across the centuries. Gillan will play Heather, MacLeod’s mortal wife and the love of his life.

Chad Stahelski is directing the feature from a script by Michael Finch, and principal photography is due to begin this autumn. Though the project does not yet have a confirmed release date, we do know it will get a theatrical release before making its way to Prime Video.

Karen Gillan can currently be seen in The Life of Chuck, the Neon film based on the novella by Stephen King.

Meet Indy, Aka GOOD BOY In New Haunted House Trailer

Indy the dog in Good Boy film trailer

A haunted house horror film seen entirely through the eyes of man’s best friend? Meet Indy the dog, the titular Good Boy in the upcoming pic from first-time feature director Ben Leonberg, from a script he co-wrote with Alex Cannon.

In the film, “Our canine hero, Indy, finds himself on a new adventure with his human owner—and best friend—Todd, leaving city life for a long-vacant family home in the country. From the start, two things are abundantly clear: Indy is wary of the creepy old house, and his affection for Todd is unwavering.

“After moving in, Indy is immediately vexed by empty corners, tracks an invisible presence only he can see, perceives phantasmagoric warnings from a long-dead dog, and is haunted by visions of the previous occupant’s grim death. When Todd begins succumbing to the dark forces swirling around the house, Indy must battle a malevolence intent on dragging his beloved Todd into the afterlife.”

Good Boy stars Indy, director Leonberg’s real-life pup, as well as indie horror vets (pun intended) Larry Fessenden, Shane Jensen, and Arielle Friedman.

The film premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival to positive reviews.

Good Boy heads to cinemas on October 3rd, 2025. Watch the trailer below:

Diane Lane And Phoebe Dynevor Star In ANNIVERSARY Trailer

phoebe dynevor in anniversary trailer

Diane Lane isn’t a fan of her son’s new girlfriend in the first trailer for Lionsgate’s Anniversary. Directed by Jan Komasa, the thriller also stars Kyle Chandler, Dylan O’Brien, Phoebe Dynevor, Madeline Brewer, Zoey Deutch, Mckenna Grace and Daryl McCormack.

In Anniversary, a close-knit family is caught in the turmoil of a controversial rising movement known as “The Change.” Ellen and Paul (Lane and Chandler) witness their lives fall apart when Ellen’s former student Liz (Dynevor) reappears and starts dating their son (O’Brien). As Liz becomes a part of the Taylor family, tensions rise and loyalties are tested. Liz’s role in “The Change” brings simmering conflicts to the surface, unravelling the fabric of the family just as the nation itself stands on edge during an alarming and challenging time of uncertainty. Now why does that sound familiar?

“Our son’s new girlfriend is a former student,” Lane says in the trailer. “She’s radical in her ideology… I don’t think it’s a coincidence that she’s attached herself to Josh.”

Komasa helms the film from a script by Lori Rosene-Gambino, itself from a story by Komasa and Rosene-Gambino. Serving as producers are Nick Wechsler, Steve Schwartz, Paula Mae Schwartz and Kate Churchill.

Anniversary will be released in cinemas on October 29th, 2025. Watch the trailer below:

regina hall and anna faris return as cindy and brenda in scary movie reboot

Anna Faris and Regina Hall are the latest of the original cast to confirm they’ll return for the Scary Movie reboot that is releasing next year. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans co-penned the script with Rick Alvarez for director Michael Tiddes’ newest offering.

Shawn and Marlon Wayans, and Dave Sheridan are also expected to reprise their roles as Ray, Shorty, and Doofy, respectively.

Known for its spoofing of horror flicks, the Scary Movie films began with the first title in 2000, followed by four sequels. Step inside the official BLACK MIRROR graphic novels, brought to you by indie publisher Twisted Comics. Discover humanity’s worst traits, greatest innovations, and more waiting within these mind-bending tales, adapting the work of one of the most groundbreaking television shows of the 21st century. The flagship series will take flight in this first episode-to-graphic novel adaptation, USS Callister, with Neil Gibson as writer, Silvano Beltramo as artist, and Butcher Billy providing the series covers.

USS Callister depicts Robert Daly (played by Jesse Plemons in the series), a programmer who creates a virtual reality game called Infinity. Dissatisfied with his day-to-day, Daly clones his real-life coworkers using stolen DNA within a modded version of Infinity, casting himself as the heroic Captain Daly of the USS Callister, a Star Trek-inspired spaceship. He forces his digital coworkers to participate in his fantasy, mistreating them as he feels mistreated in reality. When a new employee, Nanette Cole (Cristin Milioti), joins the game, however, she rebels against Daly’s tyranny and rallies the crew to fight for their freedom. The episode was so well-received that it led to a sequel in Black Mirror season 7, titled USS Callister: Into Infinity.
