Step inside the official BLACK MIRROR graphic novels, brought to you by indie publisher Twisted Comics. Discover humanity’s worst traits, greatest innovations, and more waiting within these mind-bending tales, adapting the work of one of the most groundbreaking television shows of the 21st century. The flagship series will take flight in this first episode-to-graphic novel adaptation, USS Callister, with Neil Gibson as writer, Silvano Beltramo as artist, and Butcher Billy providing the series covers.
USS Callister depicts Robert Daly (played by Jesse Plemons in the series), a programmer who creates a virtual reality game called Infinity. Dissatisfied with his day-to-day, Daly clones his real-life coworkers using stolen DNA within a modded version of Infinity, casting himself as the heroic Captain Daly of the USS Callister, a Star Trek-inspired spaceship. He forces his digital coworkers to participate in his fantasy, mistreating them as he feels mistreated in reality. When a new employee, Nanette Cole (Cristin Milioti), joins the game, however, she rebels against Daly’s tyranny and rallies the crew to fight for their freedom. The episode was so well-received that it led to a sequel in Black Mirror season 7, titled USS Callister: Into Infinity.
