Anna Faris and Regina Hall are the latest of the original cast to confirm they’ll return for the Scary Movie reboot that is releasing next year. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans co-penned the script with Rick Alvarez for director Michael Tiddes’ newest offering.

“We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon — three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again),” Faris and Hall said in a joint statement about their characters, via Deadline.

Shawn and Marlon Wayans, and Dave Sheridan are also expected to reprise their roles as Ray, Shorty, and Doofy, respectively.

Known for its spoofing of horror flicks, the Scary Movie films began with the first title in 2000, followed by four sequels. Director Tiddes is a longtime Wayans brothers collaborator, having started as an assistant on another of their projects, the comedy White Chicks. He also directed three Wayans films: the satirical horror comedy A Haunted House, and the Netflix films Naked and Sextuplets.

Filming on the Scary Movie reboot is expected to begin in October. The sixth film in the horror-comedy series is due to release in cinemas on June 12th, 2026.
