Two New STAR WARS Video Games Announced

Star Wars Galactic Racer

The galaxy far, far away is ripe with potential for gamers, as those who’ve played everything from Dark Forces to the LEGO take on the Skywalker Saga will attest. At the 2025 Game Awards, two brand-new Star Wars video games have been announced – Fate of the Old Republic and Galactic Racer.

That first title will prick up the ears of any fans of the very popular 2003 RPG Knights of the Old Republic and its 2004 sequel, and indeed, it looks like Fate of the Old Republic will follow in their footsteps.

It’s being directed by Casey Hudson, the man behind the original Knights of the Old Republic as well as the Mass Effect trilogy, for new developer Arcanaut Studios. Though it’s not a direct sequel (KoTOR is no longer canon since Disney purchased the Star Wars franchise), it’s set in a similar era and looks to be a spiritual successor.

Hudson said: “Working on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was one of the defining experiences of my career. With Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, we’re telling a completely new and different story with everything we’ve learned since, crafting an adventure about choice, destiny, and the timeless struggle between light and dark. It’s a dream come true to once again collaborate with Lucasfilm Games.”

Currently in development for PC and consoles, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic currently has no set release date. Check out the teaser trailer below:

The second game announced, Galactic Racer, is as the title suggests, an opportunity to take part in high-speed races across iconic Star Wars landscapes. It comes from Fuse Games, a new studio founded by developers who’ve worked on popular racing titles such as Burnout Paradise and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Set in the years following the fall of the Empire (so a similar setting to next year’s The Mandalorian and Grogu), Galactic Racer follows the Galactic League, a consortium of dangerous underground races. In a campaign mode, players take on the role of up-and-coming racer Shade.

Fuse Games co-founder Matt Webster said: “Players will learn more about Shade as they progress through the game’s campaign. Your aim is to survive long enough to earn your shot at becoming an elite racing pilot. Our races are high-stakes competitions where racers do everything they can to get to the front in the solo campaign and in our awesome multiplayer gameplay.”

In a win for fans of the prequels, there’ll also be an appearance from Sebulba!

Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S sometime in 2026. Here’s the trailer:

Ahead of the release of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple next month, Sony has decided to officially move forward on 28 Years Later Part 3. The third movie in the latest trilogy doesn’t yet have a title, but Alex Garland is returning to pen the script.

Cillian Murphy, who reprises his 28 Days Later role in The Bone Temple, is reportedly in talks to return for the final entry in the trilogy. The first two instalments of the sequel trilogy were filmed back-to-back, with Danny Boyle directing the first film and Candyman‘s Nia DaCosta directing the second. Though the director for this forthcoming third film hasn’t been announced, Boyle has previously expressed a desire to helm the franchise’s final instalment.

In The Bone Temple, Dr. Kelson finds himself in a shocking new relationship — with consequences that could change the world as they know it — and Spike’s encounter with Jimmy Crystal becomes a nightmare he can’t escape.

In somewhat surprising news, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are returning to the Hunger Games franchise to appear in the forthcoming prequel film, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

The two stars, known for their respective roles as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in the original films, will likely appear in a flash-forward, though nothing more has been disclosed nor confirmed.

The sequel to 2023’s The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes returns to Panem, this time following a young Haymitch Abernathy, 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games and beginning on the morning of the reaping for the Second Quarter Quell.

Francis Lawrence, who helmed the previous four instalments, directs this latest franchise entry from a script by Billy Ray (also the writer on the first Hunger Games), based as always on the novel by Suzanne Collins.

The film stars Joseph Zada as Haymitch, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Ralph Fiennes as now-President Cornelius Snow, Glenn Close as Drusilla Sickle, Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, Mckenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove Baird, Maya Hawke as Wiress, Lili Taylor as Mags Flanagan, Billy Porter as Magno Stift, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee Latier.

Lawrence and Hutcherson’s most recent entry in the franchise was 2015’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, which ended with their characters now married with children. Lawrence just earned a Golden Globe Award nomination this week for her role in Die My Love, while Hutcherson is currently on screens as the star of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

Zendaya And Robert Pattinson Star In THE DRAMA Trailer

zendaya and robert pattinson in the poster for a24 film the drama

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are headed for an uncomfortable wedding in the teaser trailer for the upcoming A24 feature The Drama. The film also stars Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim and Hailey Gates.

The Drama centres on a happily engaged couple whose soon-to-arrive nuptials are suddenly in jeopardy following a stunning revelation. Emma Harwood (Zendaya), who works at a publishing house, and British museum director Charlie Thompson (Pattinson) meet with a professional photographer for their wedding pictures but appear to have trouble expressing genuine happiness.

When the photographer, attempting to incite some expression of love, asks Pattinson to name his favourite things about Zendaya, he replies, “She’s beautiful, funny, and she has the best laugh.” When Zendaya is asked the same thing, she says, “I love that he’s caring, understanding, and open-minded.” However, the final moments of the teaser make it clear that something is very wrong with the situation.

Kristoffer Borgli directs from his own script. Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen and Tyler Campellone serve as producers. Borgli is best known for his Nicolas Cage-starring dark comedy, Dream Scenario, in which a man’s life is turned upside down when millions around the world inexplicably begin dreaming of him.

The Drama releases in cinemas on April 3rd, 2026. Watch the trailer below:

Paul Dano Joins Cast Of Psychological Thriller BUNKER

paul dano as the riddler in the batman

As the film world rallies around Paul Dano following some mildly mean (by his standards) and completely unprovoked comments by Quentin Tarantino, it has been announced that the The Batman actor has been cast psychological thriller Bunker. The film hails from Oscar-winning filmmaker Florian Zeller.

Dano joins cast members Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Stephen Graham, and Patrick Schwarzenegger. Bunker, which is now in production, “explores the unravelling of a family as a mysterious construction project — a bunker commissioned by a powerful tech mogul — begins to infiltrate their lives.”

Zeller, who both writes and directs, promises the thriller will showcase his blend of “emotional rigor and haunting atmosphere,” adding that “We are thrilled to welcome Paul Dano to the cast. From Little Miss Sunshine to There Will Be Blood, Paul has consistently impressed me as an actor. He possesses an extraordinary singularity — something genuinely unique — and in that sense, he is truly irreplaceable.”

Florian Zeller is best known for directing and co-writing the 2020 film adaptation of his play The Father, which earned him the Academy Award and BAFTA Award for his screenplay.

Filming on Bunker is presently underway in Madrid and London, so expect more updates on the project as we hear.

The Ford Brothers Resurrecting THE DEAD 3

After the hit first film in 2010, Jon and Howard Ford are set to produce the second sequel to The Dead.

With The Deadbeing set in West Africa, and the 2013 sequel The Dead 2: India moving continents, it’ll be interesting to see where the next zombie outbreak will happen.

Synopsis: With the world in chaos, a man, torn apart by the murder of his family, uncovers a global conspiracy which has brought the flesh hungry dead back to life. He will stop at nothing to battle his way across a deadly landscape to unleash a blood soaked, violent, revenge on the greedy, corporate, super rich, hiding in paradise, in secure island fortresses, waiting to inherit what remains, as the world burns in a fire of their own creation.

Jon Ford said today: “I wrote The Dead 3 with more terror, anger and rage coursing through my veins than any ‘sane’ human being should ever know! This, the final and most important film of the trilogy, is going to shock, outrage, and please, in equal measure! It’s been a long time coming…”

Howard Ford added: ‘I get asked almost every day if we are ever going to make The Dead 3 and given the challenges and real life near-death of both 1 and 2 on the incredibly arduous productions we’ve not yet jumped at it, but with Jon’s fiery inspirations to dive back in with a killer script I feel 2026 is the now-or never for the third and final chapter!’

We’ll have more details soon…

The trailer for Ben Fortune’s Doctor Plague has been released.

Adding to the chaos, a swarm of journalists starving for sensational headlines circles ever closer, ready to twist the case into whatever story will sell.

As the pressure mounts to catch the killer, the detective is drawn into a deadly web involving secret cults and even the infamous 19th-century serial murderer Jack the Ripper. When his son vanishes into the hands of abductors and the people he once trusted turn against him, John is forced to take justice into his own hands. Scarlett Johansson In Final Talks For THE BATMAN PART II

scarlett johansson in final talks to star in the batman part ii. still from lucy

Four years after leaving behind her Black Widow suit, Scarlett Johansson is headed to the DC Universe, by way of Gotham City. The actress is reportedly in final talks to join The Batman Part II, the long-gestating sequel to Matt Reeves’ 2022 film.

Reports state she will first film The Exorcist, the upcoming project from Mike Flanagan which she signed onto late last month, before doing Batman. The sequel aims to begin filming next year.

It’s been a long road to The Batman Part II, which Warner Bros. first announced in April 2022. By early 2023, DC Studios’ James Gunn and Peter Safran had said the film would be released in October 2025, before pushing it back to October 2026, and now to October 2027. Robert Pattinson will return to star as Bruce Wayne, with filmmaker Reeves both directing and co-writing the script with Mattson Tomlin.

Plot details and any news of additional casting are being kept locked down in Arkham… it’s not even clear whether Barry Keoghan’s Joker, teased in the final moments of the first film, is involved with the sequel.

That hasn’t stopped outlets and fans alike from speculating about who Johansson might play, however. Harley Quinn has already had a lot of screen time with Joker: Folie à Deux, so her character appearing in Reeves’ film seems somewhat unlikely. Likewise, Sofia Falcone is already being played by Cristin Milioti in the spinoff series The Penguin. Speculations abound that Johansson could play Andrea Beaumont, aka Phantasm, an old flame of Bruce’s in the comics and a serial-killer villain. Again, however, this is little more than guesswork at this point.

New MEN IN BLACK Film Is In The Works

will smith in men in black

Sony is hoping to see the galaxy’s defenders travel back to the big screen, with news that Chris Bremner has been hired to pen the screenplay for a new feature in the Men in Black franchise. The studio has yet to attach a director or cast for the sci-fi series instalment.

Adapting Lowell Cunningham’s Marvel Comics series, director Barry Sonnenfeld’s 1997 film starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as agents of a secret government agency that oversees extra-terrestrial activity on Earth. Smith and Jones would return for 2002’s Men in Black II and 2012’s Men in Black 3.

The franchise was then rebooted in 2019 with Men in Black: International, which starred Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, but in which neither Smith nor Jones appeared.

Bremner is a frequent collaborator of Will Smith, which may indicate the return of some of the original cast. Bremner’s credits include 2020’s Bad Boys for Life and 2024’s Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which starred Smith and Martin Lawrence. Bremner also worked on Fast and Loose, the upcoming Netflix action feature to which Smith is attached.

Stay tuned for updates on the project as we hear them, including who might direct this next chapter!
