The January line-up on Legend sees a weekend trip to The Twilight Zone and a host of fantastic channel premieres.
Kicking off on New Year’s Day at 8.30pm, the classic anthology series makes its debut on the channel for a regular Saturday and Sunday slot. Hosted and created by Rod Serling, The Twilight Zone showcased a range of creepy, futuristic, sardonic, and downright superb stories written by some of the genre’s most well-known names and starring the cream of Hollywood talent.
Also screening throughout January are:
The Lawnmower Man (1992) – Saturday, Jan 7th (channel premiere)
Seal Team VI: Journey into Darkness (2008) – Thursday, Jan 12th (UK TV premiere)
Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace (1995) – Saturday, Jan 14th (channel premiere)

The regular Sunday night delve into The Vintage Vault continues, with a couple of seventies favourites making their channel debut:
The Asphyx (1972) stars Robert Powell and screens on Jan 1st while on Jan 8th we book a stay in Horror Hospital (1973), where Michael Gough puts Robin Askwith through his paces in this brilliantly funny and gory classic.

Having been through countless developments over the last decade – including a hideous-sounding Amy Schumer iteration – the live-action feature film adaptation of Mattel’s 60-year-old property has finally been brought to life.
Written and directed by indie legend Greta Gerwig and headed up by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, the movie’s plot has long been shrouded in secret, with only a few leaked set pics cluing us into the film’s knowingly garish aesthetic. Today we learn more courtesy of its first teaser trailer – and while the story still remains a mystery, the surprising, delightfully humorous riff on Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey at its core tells us that, tonally, we should simply expect the unexpected.

Henry Cavill Eyes WARHAMMER Series
Following the news that Henry Cavill won’t be returning to play Superman in future DC movies, there are rumours that he will be heading an Amazon adaptation of the popular miniature game Warhammer 40,000.
It’s been known for a while that the actor loves nothing more than to collect and paint his little men, so the role would suit him perfectly. Amazon is in the final stages of talks for the rights to the Games Workshop property, which will see the adaptation appear as a series on the Prime streaming services.
There are no showrunners attached as yet, but Cavill’s involvement will be in an acting capacity and executive producer. As the contracts have yet to be signed, the series will still be some way off, so we are still left guessing what Henry’s next project will be.

TWISTER 2 Circles Director
We really didn’t want to talk about the weather today for obvious reasons (bloody cold, isn’t it!), but our hand has been forced…
In a highly unusual turn of events even for Hollyweird, it seems Amblin & Universal Pictures are moving ahead with a sequel to their unmemorable 1996 box-office hit, Twister.
Stranger still, the follow-up, entitled (brace yourselves) Twisters, is reported to be helmed by Lee Isaac Chung (below), writer/director of the A24’s award-winning 2020 film, Minari. The heartfelt drama centering on a family of Korean immigrants seems worlds away from the bombast of Jan de Bont’s original, so we can only imagine Chung intends to populate this popcorn epic with some well-rounded characters who audiences might not want to see meet a brutal, wind-based death.
Can tornadoes still be scary if they don’t have sharks in them? We’ll find out when Twisters storms our multiplexes in 2024.
Let’s hope it doesn’t blow!

Official: Henry Cavill Not Returning as Superman
Despite the grand announcement only two months ago, Henry Cavill will now not be returning as the Man of Steel. The actor met with new DC Studio heads, James Gunn and Peter Safran, and got the bad news.
Cavill posted on his Instagram: “After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life.” He added: “James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.”
With the surprise appearance of the big blue boy scout in Black Adam, everything was looking up for Cavill, so this news will undoubtedly be a blow.
With Cavill also leaving Netflix’s The Witcher to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth, he’ll be looking for another gig pretty sharpish.
