Ghostface is heading to the Big Apple for some Halloween tricks and murders in the first, one-minute teaser trailer for Scream 6 (stylised as Scream VI). “In a city of millions, no one hears you scream,” promises the sleek and sinister promo.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett’s next entry in the slasher franchise sees Scream 5‘s four survivors – played by Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown – trying to find a fresh start from the traumatic events of Woodsboro. But Ghostface clearly isn’t ready to hang up the cloak, as the teaser sees him tormenting our four protagonists as they become trapped on a train to Brooklyn amid a crowd of spookily costumed New York subway riders. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick also return for Scream 6 writing duties.

Also joining the project are returning franchise stars Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and beloved scream queen Samara Weaving are among the supporting ensemble. Not returning is Neve Campbell, who passed on this sixth instalment over pay disputes.
