This year’s definitive scream queen, Mia Goth, is making the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe – true to form however, she’s keeping things suitably horror-tinged as a late addition to the cast of Blade.
Blade stars Mahershala Ali as the titular half-human, half-vampire, vampire hunter who Wesley Snipes made so iconic in the late ’90s and early ’00s. Yann Demange, the director best known for Lovecraft Country, is helming the MCU project from a new script by Michael Starrbury.
Any details on who Goth might be playing are being kept locked up tight in the crypt, and will probably stay that way until next year. Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre also star in undisclosed roles.
The new Blade, first announced to great fanfare at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, is due to release on September 6th, 2024 and will shoot in Atlanta. Before then, Marvel fans can look forward to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 coming out May 5th, and The Marvels heading to the big screen sometime in November.
Mia Goth, who this year was seen in Ti West’s Pearl and in Brandon Cronenberg’s Infinity Pool, is about to begin shooting MaXXXine, the third entry in West’s A24-produced X series.
