Following the release of the Guardians Holiday Special on Disney+, Marvel Studios have debuted the teaser trailer for the much-anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

In the third instalment of the series, our beloved band of misfits are looking somewhat different. Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), still reeling from the loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldana) following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, must rally his team around him to defend the universe and protect one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could well lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

James Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, which stars Pratt, Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Elizabeth Debicki, Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog, and Will Poulter debuting as Adam Warlock.

Warlock look poised to be this film’s ‘big bad’, after his appearance was teased in Vol. 2′s post-credit scene when the Golden High Priestess Ayesha (Debicki), unveils the perfect Sovereign she has created to finally end the Guardians, introducing him as “the next step in our evolution. More beautiful, more powerful, more capable of destroying the Guardians of the Galaxy”. 

He won’t be the only obstacle the Guardians have to face, however! Vol 3 will also delve into Rocket’s (Cooper) backstory and explore life-form advancement experimentations with Rocket’s creator, the High Evolutionary (Iwuji) leading the charge.
