Apple TV+ has renewed Severance for a third season, just hours after the second-season finale debuted on the streamer. The series stands firm as Apple TV+’s most-watched drama to date.

“The idea of getting to make more Severance with the greatest cast and crew on Earth is more thrilling to me than all the world’s finger traps combined,” series creator, writer and executive producer Dan Erickson said in a statement. “I can’t wait to continue spreading woe, frolic, dread and malice with these truly incredible people.”

Added executive producer and director Ben Stiller, joking about the show’s core concept of people with divided work and non-work personas, “Making Severance has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of. While I have no memory of this, I’m told making season three will be equally enjoyable, though any recollection of these future events will be forever and irrevocably wiped from my memory as well.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, Dan, the incredible cast and crew, Apple and the whole Severance team,” said star and executive producer Adam Scott. “Oh hey also — not a huge deal — but if you see my innie, please don’t mention any of this to him. Thanks.”

Scott stars opposite Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, Sarah Bock and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.

TOGETHER Trailer Showcases Next NEON Horror

After releasing the horror hits Longlegs and The Monkey, distributor NEON returns to the genre this summer with Together, a body horror romantic comedy starring real-life spouses Alison Brie and Dave Franco.

The upcoming movie from writer-director Michael Shanks, making his feature debut, is said to “put a meta spin on the body horror film” in what NEON are calling “the horror movie of the year”.

Per the synopsis: Years into their co-dependent relationship, Tim (Franco) and Millie (Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the remote countryside, abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except each other. With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish supernatural encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh. Damon Herriman also stars.

The film premiered in the Midnight Section at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to very positive reviews, which sparked a bidding war among companies including A24, NEON, Apple TV+, Focus Features, Mubi, Searchlight Pictures, and Amazon MGM Studios.

Producers of Together are Mike Cowap, Andrew Mittman, Erik Feig, Julia Hammer, Tim Headington, Max Silva, Brie and Franco.

Together releases in cinemas from August 1st, 2025. Watch the teaser trailer below:

cujo film to be remade by darren aronofsky

Darren Aronofsky could be letting the dog out. The filmmaker, who helmed critically acclaimed features Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, and The Whale, is in talks to direct Netflix’s adaptation of the popular Stephen King novel, Cujo.

The 1981 novel of the same name tells the story of a beloved St. Bernard named Cujo who, after being bitten by a bat, becomes a rabid killer. In King’s novel, “Donna Trenton’s husband is in New York trying to contain a disastrous ad campaign. Feeling abandoned by her workaholic husband, who is frequently out of town, Donna Trenton embarks on an affair with a local handyman. Left to fend for herself, she takes her ailing Pinto to Joe Cambers’ garage for repairs, only to be trapped with her son Tad in the sweltering car by the monstrous dog.” The story was adapted as a film in 1983 and was directed by Lewis Teague.

The feature project was only revealed last week. Roy Lee, who was the driving force behind the two It movies, Salem’s Lot, and the upcoming dystopian thriller The Long Walk, is producing the pic. There is no writer yet attached, but Aronofsky will reportedly be meeting with candidates soon. Should the deal close, this will be Aronofsky’s first film for a streaming platform.

Darren Aronofsky is in post-production on Caught Stealing, a crime drama starring Austin Butler and Zoe Kravitz that Sony will release on August 29th. He last directed the 2022 The Whale, for which Brendan Fraser won the Academy Award for Best Actor.

STARSHIP TROOPERS Film In The Works From DISTRICT 9 Filmmaker

starship troopers film 1997

Columbia Pictures has a new Starship Troopers feature film in the works, with District 9 filmmaker Neill Blomkamp attached to write and direct the adaptation of the classic science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein. Blomkamp will also produce the film with Terri Tatchell, his partner and wife who co-wrote both District 9 and Blomkamp’s 2015 film Chappie.

Per the novel’s synopsis: “The historians can’t seem to settle whether to call this one “The Third Space War” (or the fourth), or whether “The First Interstellar War” fits it better. We just call it “The Bug War.” Everything up to then and still later were “incidents,” “patrols,” or “police actions.” However, you are just as dead if you buy the farm in an “incident” as you are if you buy it in a declared war…

“In one of Robert A. Heinlein’s most controversial bestsellers, a recruit of the future goes through the toughest boot camp in the Universe—and into battle with the Terran Mobile Infantry against mankind’s most alarming enemy.”

The novel was adapted in the 1997 movie adaptation from Paul Verhoeven, the director of Robocop, Total Recall, and Basic Instinct. The main character, Johnny Rico, was played by Casper Van Dien, and the cast included Dina Meyer, Denise Richards, Neil Patrick Harris and Michael Ironside.

Upon release, Starship Troopers faced critical backlash, with reviewers interpreting the film as an endorsement of fascism and disparaging its violence and performances. Years later, however, the film has been re-evaluated as a cult classic and praised as a prescient satire of fascism and authoritarian governance.

Neill Blomkamp’s take will not be a remake of the Verhoeven film, and will instead aim to return to the source material.

Colin Farrell Circles SGT. ROCK

colin farrell in tigerland war film

Colin Farrell, who was recently on screens as the classic DC villain in The Penguin, is in talks to return to the comics world with Sgt. Rock, the World War II action film to be directed by Luca Guadagnino. The move comes after Daniel Craig, who was initially in talks to helm the feature project, stepped away from the role.

The feature hails from a script by Justin Kuritzkes, who also served as screenwriter on Guadagnino’s Challengers and Queer. Plot details for Sgt. Rock are still unknown. The character is a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. army who leads his unit, Easy Company, through the European theatre of World War II. He first appeared in comics in 1959, created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert. Variety reports that DC Studios’ co-chiefs, James Gunn and Peter Safran, are excited about the film as a straightforward war picture.

Guadagnino’s next film to hit cinemas will be the Julia Roberts thriller After the Hunt. He’s also attached to direct a new adaptation of American Psycho with Austin Butler, and an adaptation of the gay romance Separate Rooms with Josh O’Connor. As for Colin Farrell, he’s expected to return to the part of the Penguin in Matt Reeves’ The Batman sequel, which DC Studios hopes could be shooting by the end of the year.

DC Studios is still hoping to begin filming Sgt. Rock this summer.

THE TERMINATOR To Tour UK

Skynet fans rejoice! The Terminator is touring the UK. Specifically, a live concert of the 1984 classic’s score will be performed in sync with the film itself on a huge high-definition screen.

The groundbreaking score, originally created by the incredibly talented and prolific composer Brad Fiedel, will be performed by the Avex Assemble, who have previously produced shows involving the Avatar and Blade Runner soundtracks, so they are no strangers to director James Cameron’s work.

The tour starts in Glasgow at the SEC Armadillo on 27th October, then travels to Manchester’s O2 Apollo on 28th October and Birmingham Symphony Hall on 29th October, before its finale at London’s Eventim Apollo on 2nd November.

Terminator is considered to be director James Cameron’s big break and is about a time-travelling cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger) tasked with murdering a waitress called Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) in order to secure the future for an insane artificial intelligence called Skynet. It is noted for its powerful visual effects and soundtrack.

Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at AEG Presents, told the press, “We are absolutely thrilled to bring The Terminator Live to the UK for the first time! This is not just a screening, it’s a full-throttle, pulse-pounding cinematic experience, with the legendary Avex Ensemble performing Brad Fiedel’s iconic score live as the action unfolds.”

“From the haunting synth melodies to the explosive, relentless beats of the taiko drums, this is The Terminator like you’ve never heard, or felt, before.  Fans of the film, sci-fi lovers, and live music enthusiasts alike, get ready for an unforgettable night.”
