Debuting at this year’s Edinburgh Comic Con were the Yancy Street Awards (a location Fantastic Four fans may recognise), where con attendees voted on a variety of mostly comics-related categories. One non-comic category of particular interest was Best Specialist Publication, which was won by your favourite cult entertainment magazine, beating Previews, SFX and Heavy Metal.

This writer happened to be in attendance and hastily improvised a short acceptance speech on behalf of the magazine’s talented staff, and didn’t do too badly considering 1) He didn’t actually know this was going to happen, and 2) How doped up on painkillers he was at the time.
