Sony’s upcoming animated Spider-Man has found its titular hero and one of its villains!

As per The Hollywood Reporter, The Get Down and Dope’s Shameik Moore has been brought in to voice the Wall-crawler in the animated adventure. If you remember back to earlier this year, it was revealed that this movie will actually feature the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man as opposed to the regular Peter Parker version of Spidey.

In the comic book realm, Miles took over as Spider-Man in the Ultimate world following the tragic death of Peter Parker. Proving to be a big hit with fans, Morales has since been brought over into the main 616 comic book universe.

On the villain front, Liev Schreiber has been cast a mystery rogue. Schreiber will be familiar to genre fans for the likes of the Scream franchise, Phantoms (in which Affleck was “the bomb”, yo!) for playing Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and for headlining Ray Donovan.

To be directed by Rise of the Guardians’ Peter Ramsey, Sony’s animated effort, titled simply Spider-Man, is set for a December 21st, 2018 release. Before that, Tom Holland’s live-action Spidey will swing back into action when Spider-Man: Homecoming hits the big screen this July.
