It’s with great sadness that STARBURST has learned of the death of Richard Gladman, better known to horror fans as Cyberschizoid on Twitter and Facebook. Richard was the publisher of popular fanzine Space Monsters, as well as an enormous advocate of the British horror scene.

As is online alter ego Cyberschizoid, Richard launched the Classic Horror Campaign, which hoped to bring back the famous double bills on BBC2 that so many of us grew up with. It’s here that he began holding screening events in London, Manchester, and Brighton, where he had settled. As well as being incredibly popular, these events made Richard a popular figure with fans and horror icons alike.

He launched a fanzine, Space Monsters, to celebrate the sci-fi aspect of his passion, and lately worked with Dez Skinn, the founder of STARBURST, with the relaunch of Monster Mag, and the publication of a special poster magazine dedicated to the icon Caroline Munro.

Always busy, Richard was also working on films and web series, namely Girl Force and Fragments of Fear.

He will be greatly missed by the horror community worldwide. STARBURST’s thoughts are with his family and friends.
