Having largely impressed with its debut season, it maybe comes as a little bit of a surprise to hear that Peacock has pulled the plug on Brave New World.
Courtesy of Variety, Peacock has made the call not to move forward with a second season of the Alden Ehrenreich-fronted loose adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s 1932 novel.
There is still hope that Brave New World may continue on elsewhere, with Universal Content Productions said to be shipping the series around in order to find it a new home. Previously, the show began life as a SYFY production, before then moving to USA Network, and then finally finding landing on Peacock.
Fort those not familiar with Brave New World, the series centres on an idyllic society where peace, prosperity and instant gratification is available to all. Only it’s not, for all isn’t quite as perfect as it may seem. In addition to Ehrenreich, the show’s impressive ensemble also featured the likes of Jessica Brown Findlay, Hannah John-Kamen, Harry Lloyd, and Demi Moore.
As ever, expect more on any possible second season for Brave New World – but, for now at least, the future doesn’t look great for this series.
At present, UK fans can find Brave New World on Sky One.
