Broadway legend and three-time Tony award winner Patti LuPone is headed to the MCU – she is the latest actor to join the WandaVision spinoff series Agatha: Coven of Chaos, starring Kathryn Hahn as the powerful witch Agatha Harkness.
The Disney+ series also stars Aubrey Plaza in what’s thought to be a villainous role, Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Emma Caulfield Ford – who reprises her WandaVision role as nosy neighbour Dottie – and Heartstopper star Joe Locke in an unknown role. Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, and Sasheer Zamata round out the known cast. LuPone’s role is being kept under tight wraps, though Deadline speculates she’ll be playing a witch.
Coven of Chaos is written and executive produced by WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer. WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer is writing and executive producing the project, and is currently developing a Vision-centric series titled Vision Quest, which will star Paul Bettany. Patti LuPone will next be seen in Beau Is Afraid, an upcoming surrealist comedy horror film written, directed, and produced by Ari Aster.
The actress is no stranger to the genre scene, having previously appeared in American Horror Story, Penny Dreadful, Steven Universe, and more.
No release date is yet set for Agatha: Coven of Chaos, but it will likely debut late next year.
