Sentry Becomes a Marvel Legend & Dragons Come To HeroQuest

Marvel’s most powerful hero, who everyone needs to forget, and Marvel’s super-hero that everyone wants to forget, now have their own Marvel Legends action figures.

Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*: Collectible John F. Walker and Sentry toys are now available to pre-order via Hasbro Pulse. They are joined by other Thunderbolts, heroes Red Guardian and Yelana Belova, aka Black Widow. They are very faithful to the movie depictions, and all come with the sort of articulation and accessories the fans demand.

Those with a more classic super-hero approach may be excited that She-Hulk, in full Fantastic Four uniform, is also available for pre-order via HASBRO Pulse. Is this a hint as to what’s to come with the forthcoming FF movie? Time will tell.

Star Wars fans will be delighted to learn that Director Krennic, in his sinister-looking cape, has also been immortalised in plastic toy form, as has an ISB Tactical Agent. Pair it with your favourite K2SO toy for extra fun.

And finally, D&D super-fan and Hollywood actor Joe Manganiello has finally released his expansion for HeroQuest, The Crypt of Perpetual Darkness, which features a cool dragon and some fabulous-looking game cards.

Italian Horror Celebrated at Weird Worcester!

An Italian horror movie convention is taking place this June, and the line-up is not to be missed if you are a fan of cult cinema! Weird Worcester is a brand new film convention hosted by boutique home video label Treasured Films. It takes place in the West Midlands at the Worcester Arena, overlooking the River Severn.

A grassroots-led event, come join fellow cinephiles and collectors for this weekend-wide celebration of all things cult films. The inaugural year focuses on Italian genre cinema, and an exciting roster of guests has been announced.

Weird Worcester will be welcoming a stunning array of cult film personalities from Italy and the United States, including the mighty Fred Williamson, who starred in films such as From Dusk Till Dawn, Inglorious Bastards, Hell Up in Harlem, and Vigilante, among many others.

A host of legendary Italian film directors will also be attending, including; Sergio Martino, known for his run of giallo films of the early 1970s, Lamberto Bava, known for his gory ’80s horror films such as Demons and Demons 2, Alessandro Capone, director of Witch Story and writer of Bodycount, and Enzo G. Castellari, best known for his action films and for directing the original Inglorious Bastards.

Carl Gabriel Yorke will be making his UK convention debut and will appear alongside Cannibal Holocaust co-star Francesca Ciardi for a long-awaited reunion. Joining Lamberto Bava will be one of his Demons stars, Geretta Geretta, and special effects guru Sergio Stivaletti, who will also be doing a mini-presentation on Sunday.

Convention favourite Silvia Collatina, of The House by the Cemetery fame, will also be in attendance. Margi Newton, who starred in Hell of the Living Dead and The Last Hunter, will make her convention debut.

The final addition to the already stunning line-up is Howard Ross, who makes another rare appearance. Ross is perhaps best known for his role in The New York Ripper, but his career spans many traditions.

Not only is it unique in the world of cult film and horror events in the UK, but it is especially unique for the city of Worcester. Graeme Lloyd at Treasured Films says ”We always seem to be travelling up North or way down South to trade at events, and I’ve always wanted to see something like it in the Midlands – something run by fans for the fans, and hopefully we can deliver that with Weird Worcester.”

The event runs on both June 14th and June 15th from 10.00 – 17.00. Tickets are £20. The days include film screenings, live Q&As, and more! You can book tickets and photo ops here. For more information, head over to the official site: https://www.treasuredfilms.co.uk/weirdworcester

GOOD FORTUNE Trailer Has Keanu Reeves As A Budget Angel

keanu reeves as angel gabriel in teaser trailer for good fortune

Keanu Reeves is an angel with fluffy wings in the trailer for Lionsgate’s high-concept comedy, Good Fortune. The film marks the feature debut of writer-director Aziz Ansari, and also starts Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh.

Reeves is Gabriel, a well-meaning but rather inept angel who decides to intervene in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Rogen).

“Martha,” Gabriel asks Oh’s angel in the trailer, “is there any way I can have more meaningful duties? I want to guide people; I want to change their lives.” Martha tells him: “to save a lost soul, you have to find a lost soul.” A task that, in Los Angeles, doesn’t take Gabriel too long.

When Gabriel’s attempt to show Ansari’s character that money doesn’t solve one’s problems by body swapping him with his wealthy employer, Jeff, fails, Gabriel loses his wings and the work he did as an angel begins to unravel.

Reeves will next be seen starring opposite Ana de Armas in Ballerina, a spinoff of the John Wick franchise that takes place chronologically between films 3 and 4.

Good Fortune releases in cinemas on October 17th, 2025. Watch the trailer below:

KICK-ASS Team Reunite For PSYCHIC SAM

psychic sam comic artwork

The team behind Kick-Ass is reuniting for the new comic book, Psychic Sam. Comic book writer Mark Millar and artist John Romita Jr. have launched their latest collaboration on Kickstarter, which centres on a man who knows about murders before they happen, with a voice in his head revealing the names and addresses of future killers.

“It’s about a guy with a big gun who goes out and solves problems. He hears voices in his head that tell him to kill bad guys,” Millar states, per a THR exclusive. “The only trouble is, the bad guys haven’t done anything yet. But every time he ignores it, someone innocent dies. It’s only a matter of time before the bodies pile up.” So, it’s like Minority Report without the legality or the tech.

Already, producer Ivan Atkinson is coming aboard to develop Psychic Sam as a feature film. Atkinson is known for his frequent collaborations with Guy Ritchie, producing films such as The Gentlemen and Wrath of Man. If this comic book makes it to the screen, it’ll be the latest in a long line of Mark Millar titles to be adapted, with Kingsman just one recent example.

With the Kickstarter now live, Millar and Romita are offering a number of incentives, including the chance to be drawn into the book. Said Romita in the video announcing the project: “I have to do justice to all of you.”

Check Out the New Promo Clip from POPEYE THE SLAYER MAN

Directed by Robert Michael Ryan, Popeye the Slayer Man sees the spinach-loving sailor become a murderous hulk. The film hits Prime SVOD in late July, and a new promo clip has been released.

Ryan said: “We’re thrilled we can make the film available to UK audiences on Prime, as well as on Amazon and Apple. We went old-school with this movie, using practical effects reminiscent of the classic horror films of the ‘70s and ‘80s. Popeye The Slayer Man is camp, chaotic, and made with a lot of love for both grindhouse horror and the worldwide cultural icon that is Popeye. For those who like their horror intense, bloody, and a bit unhinged, we hope it hits like a can of contaminated spinach”.

The film’s synopsis is: A group of friends sneak into an abandoned spinach canning factory to film a documentary on the legend of ‘The Sailor Man,’ who is said to haunt the factory and local docks, only to find out that the legend is all-too true. Cue eye-popping, scalping, severed arm beating and twisted heads as the rampaging slaughter begins…

Popeye the Slayer Man stars Jason Robert Stephens in the title role, Sean Michael Conway, Elena Juliano, Mabel Thomas, Marie-Louise Boisnier, Jeff Thomas, and Steven McCormack, along with “scream queens” Angela Relucio and Sarah Nicklin.

Shot in New York State, it is directed by Robert Michael Ryan from a screenplay by John Doolan (Remains), and is a co-production between Salem House Films, Millman Productions, Ron Lee Productions, and Otsego Media.  Jeff Miller, Cuyle Carvin, Robert Michael Ryan, Alexander Tucker, Nathan Todaro, and Alysa Blasetti are producers.  Special makeup effects are supervised by R.J. Young with cinematography by Korey Rowe.

Marvel’s AVENGERS Films Pushed Back

doctor doom to be villain in avengers films, delayed release

Marvel Studios’ new Avengers need longer before they can assemble. Avengers: Doomsday is being pushed back from May 1st, 2026 to December 18th, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars will now release on December 17th, 2027 instead of May 7th, 2027.

Disney is instead filling their May 2026 release slot with 20th Century’s The Devil Wears Prada 2, which has Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci rumoured to return.

Though Kevin Feige & co. announced a large number of actors and characters would appear in Doomsday, sources report that Marvel isn’t done with revealing the entire cast. Notable absences include Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), and more. The Russo brothers, as previously announced, are directing the feature.

While little is yet known of Doomsday‘s plot, we expect to see the assembled heroes pitted against the formidable Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) as multiple realities are pulled into a multiverse-spanning conflict.

Prior to the Avengers films, upcoming MCU film releases include Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 7th, 2025, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31st, 2026. There’s still a chance that Spider-Man might be delayed.

cast picture of the original trio harry potter, ron weasley and hermione granger

HBO’s Harry Potter TV series has found its Harry, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. The trio will be played by acting newcomers: Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stout as Ron.

“After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron,” showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner and executive producer and director Mark Mylod said in a joint statement. “The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It’s been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”

The young trio join John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. All four actors will be series regulars. Meanwhile, Luke Thallon was announced to play Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse to play Argus Filch, both in recurring roles.

It’s expected that each season of the series will adapt one of J.K. Rowling’s seven main entries in the Harry Potter series, which could mean a series franchise that spans many years.

The Harry Potter TV series will begin filming this summer for a 2026 debut. See the cast photo of the three young leads below:

Patton Oswalt Wows MCM Crowds

Patton Oswalt amazed crowds at MCM Comic Con London on a special panel to honour this guest.

Oswalt was asked about video game movies. He said, “I’d love to be in a Minecraft movie. I’ve also been friends with Jack Black forever, so getting to be on a project with him would be an absolute treat.”

He then went on to talk about one of his favourite acting roles. “There was a movie that I did, called Young Adult, with Charlize Theron – and getting to do scenes with her was one of my career highlights. I think she’s the best actor alive.”

“I’ve never been more on my toes working with someone of that calibre. She made me better at my game. Young Adult was like a fever dream because I’m not only doing scenes with Charlize Theron – but I have a love scene with her.”

Patton expressed that the fact the Grant Morrison TV series Happy! had not been renewed was an ‘ongoing tragedy’. He said “They had a whole third season mapped out and it was all going to be Halloween-themed.” The show was cancelled in 2019.  Patton also expressed an interest in playing Jack Kirby in any future Marvel Comics biopic.
