The follow-up series, Dexter: Resurrection, has been issued a second season order! “There’s more to come. The writers’ room is assembling now, and details will be forthcoming,” teased star Michael C. Hall. “The story continues!”. The renewal wasn’t a given, considering it comes after Paramount cancelled the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin in the wake of their Skydance merger.
Resurrection debuted its first season in July of this year, running for ten episodes. It hailed from original Dexter showrunner Clyde Phillips, and proved a hit. In addition to Hall, the series also saw the return of original cast members Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, David Zayas as Angel Batista, and James Remar as Harry Morgan. The cast of season 1 also included Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, David Dastmalchian, and Krysten Ritter.
The first season of Resurrection followed up on Dexter: New Blood (itself a sequel to the original show) and saw the title character searching for his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), after the latter had shot him and left him in a coma. But when Dexter’s past begins to catch up with him, he and his son will find themselves facing off against some new and familiar foes.
Stay tuned for an estimated release date!
