Jordan Peele may be saying “yep” to more Nope (and nope, we’re not ready to shelve that joke yet). The acclaimed horror filmmaker hinted at the potential for further films set in the Nope universe in an interview with the New York Times.
When asked about fan theories regarding a character who appeared in the final trailer but was subsequently cut from the film, listed as ‘Nobody’ on the feature’s IMDb page, Peele explained: “The story of that character has yet to be told, I can tell you that. Which is another frustrating way of saying, I’m glad people are paying attention. I do think they will get more answers on some of these things in the future. We’re not over telling all of these stories.”
Which means it’s safe to say we could be looking at more films set within that universe. Peele’s third feature centres on OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) and sister Em (Keke Palmer), the children of film set horse trainer and wrangler Otis Haywood (Keith David), who look to keep his business alive after his sudden death. When they encounter a U.F.O. over their ranch, the two can’t resist the promise of a big payday… if only they can capture the ‘money shot’.
