If, like me, you spend far too much time messing about on the Internet instead of doing anything productive, you've doubtless seen this countless times as well. Some wag will post FX guru Phil Tippett's 'Dinosaur Supervisor' credit from Jurassic Park, accompanied by a witty comment along the lines of "You had one job to do Phil! There were raptors in the kitchen. In the f***ing kitchen!"
Whilst initially fairly amusing, like most internet memes, it started to lose its appeal by the 400th time we saw it. And we're not alone. Tippett has now posted this light-hearted video response on his Twitter account, along with the message "YOU WEREN'T THERE! Enough with the meme."
Tippett of course has a long history of working with misbehaving creations. Besides dinosaurs, he was responsible for Robocop's ED-209, Empire's tauntauns and the bugs in Starship Troopers (for which he's got to at least claim some responsibility as he directed the sequel.)
Of course the whole thing could just be a sneaky plug for his rather nifty fx app, which he used to create the video, rather than general annoyance. But, frankly "fx guru loses rag over Internet piss taking is a better story than "fx guru plugs app" so we're prepared to give the great man the benefit of the doubt.
Hopefull Tippett's video will finally put an end to this meme (and Phil, if, for you next video you can do something that'll kill off the word meme we'd be eternally grateful). But seriously Phil, did you see what they did to Nedry? That's on your conscience Phil!
