Drew Goddard’s CABIN IN THE WOODS was one of Starburst’s favourite films of 2012, coming in second only to THE AVENGERS, so it’s only natural that we’re excited to see what the filmmaker has coming next. Now that he’s done scripting ROBOPOCALYPSE for one Mr. Steven Spielberg, Goddard will set about adapting THE MARTIAN, an e-book by Andy Weir that tells the tale of an astronaut stranded alone on Mars who must survive long enough to be rescued.

Goddard will also helm, making it his second film as writer/director, with Simon Kinberg (X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST) on production duties through his Genre Films outfit.
