It was reported towards the end of last week that the long-rumoured HALLOWEEN 3D was back in development. Whilst that particular project has yet to be officially confirmed, it appears that a new movie is definitely in the pipeline for the HALLOWEEN series.

On the official HalloweenMovies.com site, as well as the above logo, a statement has been released saying, “As we stated before, we are dedicated to the fans of the HALLOWEEN series just as much as we are dedicated to delivering a film that we believe the fans deserve and will, most importantly, love. With that being said, we can confirm that a new installment of HALLOWEEN is indeed on track and moving forward. We are currently developing a script, to finally bring Michael back to the theaters!”

So a new movie is definitely happening, but that’s all that’s known at this stage. It’s been previously stated numerous times that any future film will not follow on from the Busta Rhymes karate-fest that was HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION, meaning this new film is likely to either follow on from Rob Zombie’s 2009 HALLOWEEN II or completely start a new chapter in the legend of Michael Myers. If the above image is anything to go by, logic suggests a follow up to Zombie’s two movies. Then again, the HALLOWEEN series is well known for a slightly messed up timeline and continuity.

Expect more on this new HALLOWEEN movie as and when it becomes available.
