Recent found-footage horror series V/H/S is to get a third outing, with V/H/S VIRAL the title for this next installment. The first V/H/S movie arrived in 2012, with the sequel following in 2013.

It’s said that V/H/S VIRAL will focus on fame-obsessed teens who end up becoming online sensations for all the wrong reasons. At this point, Epic Pictures will look to hawk the film at next month’s Cannes Film Festival, with The Collective and Bloody Disgusting producing the threequel. The movie will feature segments directed by Todd Lincoln, Marcel Sarmiento, Gregg Bishop, Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead and Nacho Vigalondo, with all of those having worked on the screenplay with TJ Cimfel and Dave White. On the acting front, Justin Welborn, Emilia Zoryan and Emmy Argo are on board at this stage.

Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald announced, “We’re very proud to continue to be a part of the V/H/S VIRAL,” and Epic’s Shaked Berenson added, “We knew from the moment we saw the first film at Sundance that this sort of filmmaking was something we wanted to be a part of. It’s a great way to showcase the work of genre masters which is why the V/H/S franchise with horror fans.”

Expect to be hearing more on this third V/H/S as it develops.
