Some time ago we reported that Sony was putting together an anime feature based on STARSHIP TROOPERS, the novel by Robert Heinlein and the subsequent movie by Paul Verhoeven. The film is titled STARSHIP TROOPERS: INVASION and is directed by Shinji Aramaki (APPLESEED, HALO).

Pretty cool huh? STARSHIP TROOPERS seems to be the franchise that will not die despite the first film tanking at the box office. There have been direct to DVD sequels, an animated series and comics.
