Hot on the heels of yesterday’s announcement that RED RIDING HOOD star Shiloh Fernandez had nabbed a leading role in the nervously-awaited EVIL DEAD remake, comes news that they’ve finally recast the main character of Mia with Jane Levy.

Levy is a relative newcomer, and to date has only appeared in the US remake of SHAMELESS and the TV show SUBURGATORY, but with EVIL DEAD and Halloween comedy FUN SIZE both hitting next year, expect to see this face quite a bit from here on in…

In related news, director Fede Alvarez has released the first ever still from the movie – the road to the Cabin itself…

…Yep. That’s a road alright. Probably to a cabin.

If you haven’t already, check out the official synopsis…

Mia and David, estranged siblings who have recently lost their mother (Mia’s taking it the hardest being that she’s the one who spent most days at the hospital watching her mother deteriorate) have reunited, along with some old friends and his David’s fiancee, for an intervention at THAT old cabin. It’s here that the near rehabilitated Mia will also toss the last of her drugs down the well and finally go cold turkey.

EVIL DEAD opens April 13th 2013.
