Take this one with a big pinch of salt for right now but it’s rumoured that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been cast as DC Comics anti-hero LOBO in the forthcoming film adaptation. The Rock apparently broke the news at a Hollywood party where he was a guest. Bear in mind that LOBO is due to be directed by The Rock’s JOURNEY 2 director Brad Peyton.

Further credence is given to the rumour when someone with the handle @ron2smoove on twitter tweeted that they could see The Rock playing in DC movies possibly as Gravedigger or the John Stewart version of Green Lantern. Mr Johnson then retweeted with the heading ‘Funny U say that…’

So what does this all mean? Well until anything official is announced, not a lot but its interesting nonetheless and Lobo is the kind of character I dreamed of The Rock playing when he initially made the move to proper movies before he got all about the kids films. Expect confirmation one way or another over the next few days…
