Veteran Brithish actor Richard Griffiths has passed away at the age of 65 after complications following heart surgery yesterday. 

Griffiths was an acclaimed star of stage and film, acting since an early age. His most celebrated roles include his performance in the 1987 cult classic WITHNAIL & I, in which he helped to create the unforgettable Uncle Monty, and Vernon Dursley, Harry Potter’s cruel uncle who featured in all but one of the eight HARRY POTTER films. Other notable genre roles include Martin Scorsese’s HUGO (2011), PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES (2011), and Tim Burton’s SLEEPY HOLLOW (1999)
