Remember a couple of years ago when we all got excited that Nike were producing those sweet sneaks Marty McFly sported in BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II… only for us all to be left deflated when it turned out that they were lacking Power Laces – i.e. the key bloody feature! Useless. Okay, so the 1500 pairs produced went on to net Michael J. Fox’s charity a monstrous $6m, but we couldn’t help feel short-changed (as we did a year later when Hasbro produced that lousy, un-hovery Hoverboard). Well, now comes some encouraging news courtesy of sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield, who, in an interview with footwear fanatics Sole Collector, confirmed that the company were once again looking at the tech and there will be Power Laces by next year, as promised!

Nice one, Nike. But 25 years? The McFlys aren’t the only slackers in this story.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to all those JAWS sequels Spielberg and his son were meant to bring us? Weren’t they on 19 by 2015? Pfft. Nonsense.
