Anyone who’s ever spent time in the world of Counter-Strike 2 knows how intense it can be. Every detail counts, with success often hinging on the minutiae of your approach, all the way down to your digital fingertips. Although these gloves can’t give you the edge in a shootout, they can give your in-game persona the flair you wish you had in the real world. We’ll tackle the real world later, champ. For now, let’s master the art of picking the perfect pair of gloves to complement your CS2 style.

Understanding Glove Rarity

The only thing that really matters with CS2 gloves is aesthetics. They’re not going to help you shoot straighter, and they can’t increase your running speed—not even on your hands. Believe us, we’ve tried. However, the right pair of gloves can you make you look like a million bucks, which is why there are different tiers for different gloves. The tiers are organised primarily be rarity.

Starting from the least rare and working our way up to most rare, we have Consumer Grade first (white), followed by Industrial Grade (light blue), Mil-Spec Grade (dark blue), Restricted (purple), Classified (pink), Covert (red), and finally, Exceedingly Rare (gold). It makes sense that the rarest would be gold. And the rarer the gloves, the more they’re sought after. However, while rarity is great, it doesn’t always make for stylish hand attire. After all, beauty is in the eye of beholder.

Different Glove Types

Beyond the rarity of the gloves, you can find distinct types that may suit the character you’re trying to embody. Perhaps you’re a Driver Glove kind of player, a smooth operator who likes to look sleek and stylish. Or maybe you’re too athletic and dynamic to worry about matters of fashion, in which case the Sport Gloves might work for you. Fancy more of a combat sports look? Hand wraps capture that rugged and tactical look that make you look like you could get an alligator in a headlock.

For those of you who like your gloves to make a statement, Moto Gloves are the type of edgy and bold accessories to hold their own press conference. The more professional among you might prefer Specialist Gloves to signal to opponents that you’re professional and precise. And last, but not least, Hydra Gloves are the outside pick for anyone who wants to stand out as a lone wolf.

The Colours and Patterns

After settling on which gloves you’d like, the only thing left to consider is the colour and pattern. If you thought this was going to be easy, you were wrong. The colour and pattern of a player’s gloves says a lot about them, so take your time with this one. Popular choices include the Vice Gloves, a member of the Sport Gloves family, with a colourful design that wouldn’t look out of place in Miami Vice; Crimson Kimono are red and white Driver Gloves that exude elegance; Emerald Web are green and black sports gloves that have a web pattern on them; and if you can’t make your mind up, the Fade gradient effect transitions between multiple colours.

The Wear Rating

As with your weapon skins, your gloves come with different wear ratings, so pay attention. You can get Factory New (FN) if you want to enter combat looking your Sunday best. If you don’t mind showing up to virtual church with dirt under your fingernails, Minimal Wear (MW) may work for you. Perhaps you want to look rough and ready, hair out of place and little cuts on your face, in which case you’ll want to go Field-Tested (FT). More weathered than that? You’re trying on the Well-Worn (WW). And most weathered of all? You’ll be wearing the suitably-named Battle-Scarred (BS), and nobody will be messing with you, regardless of the venue.

Other Considerations

We’ve covered the main things you need to remember when you’re buying gloves, but here are a few others. Firstly, think about how your gloves will look with your favourite weapon skins. They don’t have to matching colours. In fact, the opposite might work best. If your gun is bright and colourful, it may work best to add more subdued gloves to avoid a visual overload.

Next, you have to think of your budget when you’re buying gloves. It’s unfortunate that some gloves can be so pricey, but you should only buy what you can afford. And remember, at the end of the day, these gloves are supposed to add to the fun. If the sillier ones make you smile, go for them. Whatever you choose, make sure it brings you joy. And if you’re seeking further inspiration, look at glove trends on social media for ideas. But don’t be afraid to be a true style icon and forge your own path.
