The impact of the WGA strike continues to be felt throughout the entertainment industry, as Disney announces a slew of release date changes to some of its biggest upcoming properties.
For ease of reference, we’ve compiled all these confirmed Disney release slate changes into a handy list:
MCU:
- The third, still-untitled Deadpool film will actually release earlier than planned, moving from November 8th, 2024, to release May 3rd, 2024
- Captain America: Brave New World (formerly Captain America: New World Order) moves to July 26th, 2024
- Thunderbolts moves from July 26th, 2024, to December 20th, 2024
- Blade goes from September 6th, 2024, to February 14th, 2025
- Fantastic Four moves from February 14th, 2025, to May 2nd, 2025
- Avengers: Kang Dynasty moves from May 2nd, 2025 to May 1st, 2026
- Avengers: Secret Wars moves from May 1st, 2026 to May 7th, 2027
Avatar:
- Avatar 3 moves from December 20th, 2024, to December 19th, 2025
- Avatar 4 therefore shifts from December 18th, 2026, to December 21st, 2029
- Avatar 5 moves from December 22nd, 2028, to December 19th, 2031
Star Wars:
- One Star Wars movie goes from December 19th, 2025, to May 22nd, 2026
- Another Star Wars title has been added for December 18th, 2026
Others:
- The new live-action Moana film gets moved up by just a week from July 2nd to June 27th, 2025
- The new Alien film will release August 16th, 2024
