No Plans For Future Batman: Arkham Games, Claims Kevin Conroy

Above all others, the Batman: Arkham series has been the benchmark for superhero games. Even counting the buggy Arkham Origins and mechanically troubled mess of Arkham Knight, the series nevertheless left a mark upon the gaming world. While fans have speculated about its return more than once, unfortunately, it looks as if Knight will be the end to this saga.

Speaking at Nashville’s Wizard Comic Con, the long-standing actor behind the Dark Knight, Kevin Conroy claimed that there were no plans for sequels. While speaking with fans, he claimed the following:

You know, I can’t believe that they’re not gonna do another one, but they’re not. Isn’t that amazing? They made literally billions of dollars on those games, but uh no, there’s no plan to do another one. Sorry.”

While Warner Bros had not commented on this subject, it confirmed the long-standing claim by Rocksteady Studios that Knight would be their final Batman title. While Warner Bros will almost certainly not let such a financially lucrative icon be forgotten, whatever we see next will likely have nothing to do with the prior quadrilogy.

Fans of party gaming take note – a fabulous 3D role-playing game has just hit Kickstarter and is well worth looking at – Hoardcore Dungeons!

We now have a new video of the action, check it out:

From the Kickstarter blurb:

HOARDCORE DUNGEONS is a 3D team-based action role-playing game set in a subterranean land of endless danger and riches. Assemble your trio of heroes and venture down into the cavernous depths in search of the legendary hoardcore.

Despite the modern game play, the story is reminiscent of traditional light-hearted fantasy table top-style gaming sessions. Our tale takes place in the underground city of Penumbra Falls. While the city was once grand and beautiful, it has been overtaken by greed and thievery spurred by the rumours of a priceless artefact somewhere deep within the earth. When news of this tale spread above the surface it caught the attention of all kinds of hunters and adventurers, each one with their own reason to seek such an incredible treasure. But the only way to survive down there is together, so they will have to find a way to work with each other to claim what they seek. Does the legendary hoardcore really exist or is the real treasure the friends they made along the way? No, it’s definitely the hoardcore.

Creating your own party of adventurers is central to HOARDCORE DUNGEONS. Throughout the game world will be characters that you can recruit to your cause and swap into your party. Every character has unique mechanics and weapons so be sure to find them all! Design your party to suit your play style, whether that’s by creating a trio of your favourites, or challenging yourself with a lone hero, it’s all up to you!

The world of HOARDCORE DUNGEONS is divided up into many unique zones, each with different enemies and treasures. The more you fight, explore, and quest through each area the more secrets and rewards you will discover. Make sure you’re thorough, as there is much more in the depths than meets the eye!

STAR TREK Boldly Arrives to Roleplay

After months of playtesting, speculation and geeky fun, the Star Trek roleplaying game, Star Trek Adventures, has arrived and is now available for pre-order.

Star Trek has had tabletop roleplaying games before, but they’ve lacked the broad scope of the franchise and tended to be pretty old-fashioned in design. Modiphus’s latest offering promises to be an up to date and thrilling experience, dropping you into the most interesting eras of the Star Trek Universe.

Most of us will want to get Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook, but hardcore fans may want to get their hands on Star Trek Adventures Borg Cube Collector’s Edition Box Set. This Borg Cube-shaped box contains pretty much everything you need to roleplay in the Star Trek Universe, allowing you to boldly game where no one has gamed before. The snazzy box includes dice, core rulebooks, laser engraved token, posters and more.

There’s also a pile of scale models of various heroes and villains from the show. Let’s face it, everyone needs a tiny Captain Picard in their lives.

Those with slightly more modest budgets can order the books and the cube by going for the Borg Drone option; who doesn’t want to bring a drone home? You can pre-order all of these lovely things on the Modiphus website here.
