Legion M – the world’s first fan-owned entertainment company – have unveiled the trailer and cinematic release date for their feature documentary, William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill. The doc, which premiered at South by Southwest Film Festival last year, will debut on screens in the US on March 22nd, as Shatner celebrates his 93rd birthday.

Directed by Memory: The Origins of Alien helmer Alexandre O. Philippe, You Can Call Me Bill is an intimate exploration of the actor’s life and 70-year-spanning career – including and going beyond his iconic role as James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise, from his 1966 debut in the Original series to his final appearance as Kirk in the seventh Star Trek feature film, Star Trek Generations.

Acknowledging the “fans of independent film, fans of documentaries, and fans whose support has given me a career in this industry,” Shatner stated that “Legion M’s approach of uniting the audience to make movies is brilliant. I’m honored to stand with those who invested, and proud to be a part of the work they helped create. I hope everyone comes out to join our celebration when the film releases in theaters on March 22.”
