Let’s face it: HBO’s Westworld has been an absolute revelation since debuting earlier this year. And now, to the joy of us all, the series has been confirmed for a second season.
HBO’s Casey Bloys announced the news, stating, “I’m thrilled to announce the pickup of our three fall series, all of which have distinctive, original voices. Critics and viewers have welcomed ‘Westworld’ and ‘Insecure’, as well as the return of Sarah Jessica Parker to the network after 12 years with ‘Divorce’.”
To date, Westworld has averaged an audience of nearly 12 million viewers in the US, which actually marks it as being more watched than Game of Thrones was during its debut season.
Obviously we’ll have to see how things plan out with the remaining episodes of Westworld’s first season before we know where things fully lie with Season 2, but at least we now know that there’s more to come from a show that’s quickly become one of 2016’s most must-see series.
