An Adventure in Space and Time News

One of the most eagerly-awaited highlights of the forthcoming 50th Anniversary Doctor Who season is Mark Gatiss’ drama An Adventure in Space and Time which tells the story of the origins of the series back in 1963 and stars David Bradley as William Hartnell. The BBC have now confirmed that the ninety-minute drama, which also stars Jessica Raine as Doctor Who’s first producer Verity Lambert, Brian Cox as Doctor Who creator Sydney Newman, Jemma Powell as Jacqueline Hill (Barbara), Jamie Glover as William Russell (Ian) and Claudia Grant as Carole Ann Ford (Susan) will be screened at 9pm on Thursday 21st November, two days before the anniversary date itself which will see the seventy-five minute new episode The Day of the Doctor screening at 7.45pm on BBC1. Original series stars Russell and Ford will themselves make cameo appearances in the Space and Time drama and League of Gentlemen star Reece Shearsmith will portray Second Doctor Patrick Troughton.
