So which character will Mark Gatiss be portraying in the fourth season of GAME OF THRONES?

The Radio Times reports that the SHERLOCK co-creator and BBC Radio 4 Extra’s MAN IN BLACK will be taking on the role of Tycho Nestoris, a representative of the Iron Bank of Braavos.

Nestoris has featured in A Dance with Dragons and The Winds of Winter, the fifth and sixth novels of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy series.

Described in the books as tall, gaunt and having a long beard, he travels to Westeros to negotiate with Stannis Baratheon repayment of a debt owed by the Iron Throne.

It is thought that the role will be a relatively minor one as Gatiss’ scenes were completed quickly, although he has previously stated that he was “overwhelmed” by the positive reaction to his casting.

Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic early 2014.
