It’s recently been confirmed that DC’s THE FLASH will be getting his own show on The CW, similar to how Superman got SMALLVILLE and how Green Arrow is currently enjoying success with ARROW. Writer Andrew Kreisberg has been speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about what we can expect from the new show.

He said, When we first meet Barry Allen, he’s just a forensic scientist… an ordinary man. Part of the fun for the audience is to see how we view our ARROW take on the Flash legacy. Some of it will feel very familiar to DC Comics, some of it hopefully will feel different, fresh and exciting. The same way we approached Arrow is the same way we’re approaching Barry.”

The character of Barry Allen is set to appear in the eighth and ninth episodes of the second season of ARROW, with an appearance in the twentieth episode working as a launching pad, being called a “backdoor pilot,” for The Flash’s own show. Kreisberg added, “There will be extraordinary events in the world and the characters will react in the same way.”

In terms of what costume The Flash will wear, Kreisberg put a million fans at ease by saying, “No sweat suits or strange code names; he will be The Flash.”

So, all’s sounding great so far. Let’s hope that everything plays out as planned.
