With the upcoming MAD MAX: FURY ROAD one of the most hotly anticipated movies of the year, now comes word that star Tom Hardy is signed on for a further three outings as Max Rockatansky.

Speaking to Esquire, Hardy said, “Everything’s based on figures and how things are perceived. Inevitably it’s a business.”

This comes on the heels of director George Miller previously having said, “In order to tell this story, we came up with two others. We’ve written the screenplay of one and the novelisation of another, but it’s a very rough novel. We kept working on them while we were working on other things.”

As Hardy mentioned, these things are always dependant on the success of a film or franchise, but the mood around FURY ROAD from fans and critics alike is extremely positive at this stage. Of course, the proof is in the pudding and we’ll get to find out for ourselves when MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is released on May 15th.
