Given that there’s been talks of multiple, multiple sequels and/or spinoffs to George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road, all’s been a little quiet lately on that front. Now though, star Tom Hardy has moved to confirm that he’s still more than eager to return as Max Rockatanksy.
When asked by The Wrap as to whether the previously-discussed sequels were still happening, Hardy enthused, “Yeah, I believe so. I don’t know when that starts, but I believe that’s in the books. There’s a couple of those floating around. I’m waiting for the call to come.”
The most recent word coming from writer/director Miller is that he’s definitely got two more Mad Max movies in mind, with potentially others to follow. The next film in the series was initially announced as being called Mad Max: The Wasteland, although that title is rumoured to be up in the air again right now.
Considering that Tom Hardy was first cast as Max back in 2009 yet Fury Road wasn’t released until 2015, even though the actor is eager to return to the role, it may well be a little while until we see Max Rockatanksy on screen once more.
