Whilst it was previously being referred to as COBALT, the title of the upcoming WALKING DEAD companion series has now been confirmed. The show will be titled FEAR THE WALKING DEAD.

Creator Robert Kirkman revealed the news on Twitter, saying, “IT’S OFFICIAL! The walking dead companion show on AMC is called FEAR THE WALKING DEAD! Expect more news very soon! #FearTheWalkngDead”

The series is already shooting at present, with Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey all starring. Plot-wise, the action will take place in the early days of the outbreak that we’ve seen take place in the central WALKING DEAD show. Rather than the Atlanta, Georgia setting of the main show, FEAR THE WALKING DEAD will focus on the streets of Los Angeles.

The six-part FEAR THE WALKING DEAD will debut in the second half of this year, with a second season already confirmed for next year.
