With Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens tearing through box office records at the moment, there’s apparently been some interesting developments regarding the next installment of this new trilogy, Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII.

MovieCastingCall has put out an ad to say that Disney and Lucasfilm are on the hunt for a female lead for Star Wars: Episode VIII. The search is on for a female of any ethnicity and who can play between 20 and 35 years of age. Additionally, both male and female supporting roles are available, with auditions being set up in London and Los Angeles over the coming months. Nothing official has come from either Disney or Lucasfilm on this, so take all of this with a pinch of salt for now.

Principal photography on Episode VIII is to start in the Spring, with the majority of shooting to take place at London’s Pinewood Studios.

At present, Star Wars: Episode VIII is set for a May 26th, 2017 release.
