John Krasinski will star in the upcoming Prime Video psychological thriller series Silent River, about a serial killer who prowls a small town. Matthew Rhys has also been cast in the series.
As The Hollywood Reporter details, Prime Video has given a series order to the show, which hails from creator Aaron Rabin, who served as showrunner on Jack Ryan, which of course starred Krasinski as the titular CIA operative.
The series is said to be a drama about the cracks that emerge in a small town when it’s discovered a serial killer lives among its residents, while Krasinski and Rhys will play two men whose lives are more connected than they realise.
“We are thrilled to continue our work with John Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, and Sunday Night on this gripping series, which delves into the mysteries and secrets of small-town America,“ said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM. “With John and Matthew Rhys attached to star in this wonderful story from Aaron Rabin, our global customers will be on the edge of their seats throughout this thought-provoking, psychological thriller.”
Rabin, Krasinski and Rhys will executive produce Silent River with Seeger and Alexa Ginsburg of Sunday Night Productions and Adam Bernstein. Krasinski and Bernstein are also set to direct.
