Deadline is reporting that Sela Ward has been added to Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day 2. 

Having worked with the director on The Day After Tomorrow, the actress will be playing the President of the United States in the sequel to Emmerich’s 1996 movie. Her other credits include The Fugitive, Gone Girl, CSI: NY and House.

Ward joins a cast that includes Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch, Brent Spiner, Liam Hemsworth, Charlotte Gainsbourgh, Travis Tope, Jessie Usher, Joey King, Maika Monroe, and the first film’s US President, Bill Pullman.

Independence Day 2 is currently set for a June 24th, 2016 release.
