We here at STARBURST love us some Scooby-Doo, and so it’s welcome news to hear that another big screen outing is in the pipeline for everyone’s favourite mystery-solving Great Dane.

From this week’s CinemaCon, courtesy of CBR, comes word that the current plan of attack is for Warner Brothers to launch a whole animated cinematic realm based on some Hanna-Barbera classic characters of yesteryear. This shared universe is to begin with a Scooby-Doo reboot, which has now been officially titled S.C.O.O.B. (yeah, we’re not totally sold on that title either…).

The WB have said that S.C.O.O.B. is their “shot at unlocking the entire Hanna-Barbera universe.” The movie will be handled by Warners Animation Group, who are also handling The LEGO Batman Movie, Smallfoot and Storks.

In actuality, DC Comics is already making inroads with just such a shared Hanna-Barbera world with their Future Quest series that’s brought together the likes of Birdman, Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, and Galaxy Trio.

To be directed by Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated’s Tony Cervone, S.C.O.O.B. is currently slated for a TBC 2018 release.
