Losing count? Don’t worry, we are as well.

With Alien: Covenant officially released in UK cinemas tomorrow, legendary director Ridley Scott has been discussing the already-confirmed follow-ups to that film. And that is where things get a little hazy.

Previously, Scott has said how there were to be four more movies to take place between Covenant and his iconic 1979 Alien. Then other stories saw there being three more films, and now it looks as if Scott has settled on two more pictures… maybe.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies about whether the film following Covenant would be the last of the prequel efforts, Scott said, “I don’t know. Maybe two more, or maybe one more, I don’t know.”

This differs from what Sir Ridley said earlier this year, in which he told Fandango that there will be one further movie – seemingly titled Alien: Awakening – then if that’s successful it will be followed by three more films.

So yeah, there will definitely be more Alien movies to come, just we’re not exactly sure how many of ‘em right now.

As mentioned, Alien: Covenant is officially released in the UK tomorrow, with a US release to follow on May 19th. In the meantime, be sure to check out our earlier review of the movie here.
