With Luke Evans to star in the redo of Alex Proyas’ THE CROW, a little information has surfaced in regards to just when that film will go into production.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Edward R. Pressman claimed that production will begin in the spring” and that the film will be “the anti-Spider-Man.” Pressman then added, “It still has a big fanbase even though it was so long ago. But the generation today doesn’t even know THE CROW.”

Pressman has served as a producer on THE CROW, THE CROW: CITY OF ANGELS, THE CROW: SALVATION, THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER, and as executive producer on the STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN television series. Meaning he should have a good idea of what’s going on with the franchise.

As for this rebooting of the series, F. Javier Gutierrez will be directing and DRACULA UNTOLD’s Luke Evans will be taking on the lead role of Eric Draven. Series creator James O’Barr is also on board in a consultancy role.
