Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of The Punisher in the second season of Daredevil might well become the definitive amongst comic book fans. In fact, his performance as the vigilante has proved to be so popular that Daredevil himself, Charlie Cox, has called for The Punisher to get his own Netflix series. But what of the other new addition to Daredevil’s character roster? Could we be seeing an Elektra series soon? Well, no, not according Elodie Yung, who plays Matt Murdock’s murderous paramour.

As Yung told IGN, “I love Elektra. I really have a special place in my heart for her. It was very enjoyable for me to discover her and to adapt her for this project and bring myself to this character. So I have a special spot for her. Having my own show – it’s not something that I think of. It’s not.”

However, Yung is more than happy to reprise her role as Elektra in The Defenders, which will see Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist join forces to save the good citizens of New York City from further catastrophe.

“I would love to appear in The Defenders,” she said. “I don’t know – because hopefully she’ll maybe be on the bad side. I don’t know what they’d do with Elektra in The Defenders but that would a good dynamic, I think – to be confronted by these four superheroes – and I think it would be interesting. I’d be curious to see what they do.”

Season 2 of Daredevil is now available to view on Netflix… and yes, it’s as good as you’d hoped.
