So you’ve got Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford on board a film, and you need another ripped ‘80s heartthrob. Who do you turn to? Well Bruce Willis is already ruled out, so I guess the next logical step would be to look at the intelligent guy that used to prop up the bar in CHEERS. Sadly Norm was unavailable, so Frasier was the next in line. That’s right, FRASIER star Kelsey Grammer has signed up to join THE EXPENDABLES 3.
Deadline is reporting the news, with Grammer set to play an ex-mercenary called Bonaparte. Interestingly, the part was originally lined up for Nicolas Cage, so I guess he’s now out of the picture altogether.
As well as the aforementioned names, Grammer joins a cast that includes Jason Statham, Kellan Lutz, Antonio Banderas, Ronda Rousey, and Victor Ortiz. Wesley Snipes, Milla Jovovich and Jackie Chan are also in various stages of negotiations.
With Patrick Hughes directing, THE EXPENDABLES 3 is set for a 15th August, 2014 release.
