The Amazing Spider-Man 2 News

Cinepop.br has some interesting Spidey-news: it claimed that Sony Pictures Brazil is marketing the sequel to Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN as THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: RISE OF ELECTRO. Whether this is just for Brazil and the South American market or if it will be a worldwide change is not yet known.

It was previously reported a few months ago that Sony were possibly looking at giving the sequel a subtitle, with reports at that time suggesting that THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: WITH GREAT POWER and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: PRICE OF POWER were two possibilities.

This proposed new title reminds us of the old ENTER ELECTRO game on the Playstation all those years ago.

The Spidey sequel will see Peter Parker looking to juggle his high school graduation, his affection for Gwen Stacy and his promise to her father that he will stay away from her, and the small matter of a couple of supervillains – namely Electro and Rhino.

Andrew Garfield returns as Pater Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May and Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben. Joining them is Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn, Jamie Foxx as Electro and Paul Giamatti as Rhino. There’s also an unknown role for Sarah Gadon and Felicity Jones, with Jones confirmed to be playing a villain who is tied to the Green Goblin.

Regardless of title, Webb’s sequel is currently set to be released on 18th April, 2014.
