Wasn’t it only the other day Damon Lindelof announced he was done with movies and was headed back to his natural habitat of TV? Well either he’s mates with someone very high up the food chain on the zombie adap WORLD WAR Z or they offered him a cheque with enough zeros on the end of it to ensure no sane screenwriter could ever turn it down!

While we’re big fans of Lindelof’s output (and don’t have a pop at him over your PROMETHEUS frustrations, it wasn’t entirely his work), we can’t get too excited about this news… since the movie already finished shooting earlier on this year! Yep, it’s going in for some extensive reshoots this coming September so don’t expect to be seeing it at year’s end like we were supposed to. That said, the studio are eyeing a summer 2013 slot instead, so they must have faith in Lindelof’s ability to save it with a high profile slot such as that.

Another plus – since Lindelof didn’t get to do his much talked about ‘Zombie Season’ of LOST, expect him to come to this gig armed with ideas!

WORLD WAR Z is directed by Marc Forster and stars Brad Pitt, Matthew Fox, James Badge Dale, and Mireille Enos amongst others.
