A quick flurry of JURASSIC WORLD tid-bits drifted from the cinema heavens over the weekend, so strap yourselves in.

First up was the announcement that the fourquel is set to shoot in Hawaii for a collective six weeks in April before moving on to New Orleans, Louisiana for a further eleven weeks of shooting at the beginning of June. No prizes for guessing where they’ll be shooting the dinosaur stuff, unless WORLD is preparing to go all LOST WORLD on us and give New Orleans the San Diego treatment.

Then, adding to the all-important hype train, the master purveyor of journalistic justice MTV grabbed a few quotes from recently announced star Chris Pratt.

When asked why the role appealed to him, Pratt had this to say: “What I liked about it is that it answers the question of, ‘Why would they do that?’ How do you suspend disbelief to be like, ‘Oh, yes! Let’s make this mistake again! We haven’t learned our lesson about dinosaurs. We should definitely live with them and see how that works out!” After three tries, they answer the question really well through the script. Colin did a great job of writing it and justifying it. Kind of, in his own way, having fun with that so that anybody who goes in with that question will be really amused the way I was.”

He was also asked about the incessant elephants in the room, Sam Neill’s Dr. Alan Grant and Jeff Goldblum’s Dr. Ian Malcolm. “He’s got a little of both ,” Pratt explains about his character. “He’s got a little bit of the Goldblum cynicism, but also the Sam Neill excitement at the wonder and the biology of it all.”

At least Pratt seems legitimately excited for the project; we can only hope it transfers to the big-screen.

As a final droplet of news, director Colin Trevorrow tweeted that the film will be shot in 35 and 65mm film (as well as 3D of course), which almost probably means something to somebody who can speak camera.
